When a young player with obvious star quality bursts onto the football scene there is usually excitement. That is understandable, but sometimes they are overhyped by the media or the fans.
However, that is not the case with Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham. It is not all hype with the 18-year-old, he is producing the goods on the pitch to deserve the glowing reviews.

On Tuesday night, Bellingham starred in BVB’s 2-1 win at Besiktas in the Champions League. He scored the first goal before setting up Erling Haaland for the second. The performance was one of a player that seems to have the footballing mind of a much older player.
Bellingham has been earning rave reviews since he broke into the Birmingham first-team at the tender age of 16. It was clear from his early performances that the midfielder was a special talent.
Dortmund managed Bellingham’s game time when he first arrived at the club. However, the midfielder is now an integral part of BVB’s team. It is not difficult to imagine that the Englishman is one of the first names on the Dortmund teamsheet, despite his tender years.
The former Birmingham star has so many top attributes. The most noticeable facet of his game is that he can do everything. He not only has tremendous technical ability and quality on the ball, but he is also able to do a job defensively and is not scared of putting a tackle in when it’s needed.
He can also play in several different roles, as he has played in the centre of midfield and also on the right for Dortmund so far this season. It could be argued that his best position in the future is in the centre midfield from where he has the ability to beat players and arrive late in the box to notch vital goals.
Jude Bellingham is not just a player for the future anymore. He is already an established player for Dortmund, scoring four goals and producing two assists in his opening seven matches in all competitions this season.
There is a sense that this is just the start of something truly special and that the sky is the limit for the fast-maturing Jude Bellingham.
