Season 2019/20 of Faroe Islands’ Premier League begins this weekend. It will be interesting to see what the new campaign will bring to the fans, who are eager to witness how their favourite teams have improved.
One of the opening fixtures of season 2019/20 is between NSÍ Runavík and TB Tvoroyri.
The home side finished third last season, so now they will be striving to continue their solid form in the new campaign, as well. TB Tvoroyri, on the other hand, finished the previous season just above the relegation zone, so they will be hoping for a bright start this year.
This Saturday, EB/Streymur travel to Gundadalur Stadium to face the team of HB Torshavn.
The hosts weren’t able to secure a spot in top 3 last season, so they will be hoping for that in the new campaign. EB/Streymur’s performance in the last season was really disappointing, as the visitors won just 3 of their 20 league games.
The champions - KI Klaksvik host the runner-ups from last season’s campaign - B36 Torshavn, in an early clash that will keep the fans on the edge of their seats.
The home side will try to defend their league title from the previous campaign, as they face a tough opponent. B36 Torshavn, on the other hand, needed just three points shy to level the home side in the last season.
IF Fuglafjordur face Skala IF at their Skála Stadium with the ambitions to improve last season’s disastrous performance.
The home side enjoyed a decent form in the previous season, as they finished 6th in the league standing. IF Fuglafjordur, however, ended their 2018/2019 campaign quite discouraged, finishing at the bottom of the table with just 1 win in 27 matches.
