Getafe are blowing hot and cold in the early stages of the season. They have a record of 2W-1D-3L after six matches, with a –3-goal difference. Getafe lost a barnburner against Real Sociedad at the weekend, 4-3.
Valencia went unbeaten in their last six matches versus Real Sociedad in all competitions, recording two wins and four draws. The last six matches between these teams saw three red cards handed out.
Sociedad were handed just one loss in their opening six games, but they aren’t in the best form. The Royal started the campaign with three consecutive draws before picking up their first win. Sociedad are winless on the road this season thanks to a draw and a loss in two games.
Valencia are fifth in the standings after six matches. They go into round No. 7 following a win and a loss in the league to Atletico Madrid and Almeria respectively. Valencia played at Mestalla three times previously this season, winning twice and losing once.
Villarreal defeated Girona in five of their last six matches in all competitions. Last season, the Yellow Submarine did the domestic double over Girona, outscoring them 3-1.
Girona are shockingly good in the early stages of the La Liga season. They picked up 16 points from the opening 18 points available to them. After opening the season with a 1-1 draw at Sociedad, Girona have won their last five matches. They outscored their opponents 16-7.
Villarreal are struggling for wins. They took just seven points from the opening six matches, scoring nine goals and conceding 11 times. They did go unbeaten in their last two games, defeating Almeria 2-1 and drawing 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano.
Real Madrid went unbeaten in their last six games against Las Palmas. However, these teams last played in 2018. Madrid outscored Las Palmas 16-7 in the last six meetings and the teams combined for 23 yellow cards and two red cards.
Madrid won their two previous home matches this season at the Santiago Bernabeu. They collected a 2-1 win over Getafe and a 2-1 win over Real Sociedad. Confidence will be high that a win over Las Palmas will be recorded at full-time.
Las Palmas achieved promotion from the Segunda last season. Since returning to La Liga, the Canaries have struggled. They lost all three away matches this season and go to the capital without a point on their travels.
