Brazil’s Serie A is moving into the final stages of the campaign, as Palmeiras have the title nearly wrapped up. The league will play a midweek set of fixtures with teams at both ends fighting for continental qualification and relegation survival.
Botafogo claimed a 1-0 win against Red Bull Bragantino earlier this season when the teams played in Serie A. Botafogo are unbeaten in five of their last six games against Bragantino.
The Red Bull club had a promising start to the campaign, but now find themselves in 13th place. Bragantino are two points off of continental qualification. Red Bull took seven points from the last 18 points on offer in the league.
Botafogo picked up 10 points from the last six games. However, they are winless in their last two Serie A matches. Botafogo are 11th in the table and have a –3-goal difference after 33 games.
Corinthians and Fluminense will meet for the fourth time this season in all competitions. Fluminense won the reverse league fixture 4-0 against Corinthians. The teams met twice in the Brazilian Cup, with the first leg ending 2-2, and Corinthians won the second leg 3-0.
Corinthians are unbeaten in five of their last six head-to-head matches with Fluminense. They go into the match in fourth place in the league standings and on a five-game unbeaten streak in Serie A.
Fluminense are fifth in the standings and winless in four of their last six games in the league. A win for Flu would send them ahead of Corinthians in the standings.
Goias are unbeaten in five of their last six games versus America MG. However, America MG won the teams’ reverse fixture in Serie A by a score of 1-0.
America MG are not in form ahead of the midweek clash. The visitors are on a two-game Serie A losing streak and could fall out of the top half of the table with a defeat to Goias.
Goias claimed a 2-1 win against Cuiaba last time out. The victory ended a five-game unbeaten streak for Goias, as they are just two points off the top 12 and continental competition qualification.
The last three matches between Internacional and Ceara finished as draws. In addition, all three of those draw matches ended with under 2.5 goals scored.
Inter are second in the Serie A standings but 10 points behind Palmeiras. They went unbeaten in the last six games and picked up 12 points. The defence conceded just three times.
Ceara took just three points from the last six matches. All three points came from draws as the team went winless during the six-game stretch.
