We take a look at the chances of second leg turnarounds in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Bayern Munich vs Manchester City (0-3)

If there is any club that can overturn a 3-0 deficit in the Champions League, it’s Bayern Munich.

Prior to their 3-0 loss to Manchester City, the club were in arguably the best form we’ve ever seen in the competition by beating giants like Inter Milan, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain twice over and letting in just two goals and scoring 18.

Now, however, Pep Guardiola’s City will likely ease into the last four and even if they lose on the night, we don’t expect it to be by more than three goals. If it were to be, it would end up being one of the most dramatic turnarounds in history, given the level of opposition.

    Chelsea vs Real Madrid (0-2)

Chelsea have barely a hope to cling onto coming into their second leg against Real Madrid.

In fact, the defending European champions were far from at their best and still won 2-0 on the night, and with Ben Chilwell suspended and Chelsea’s terrible form this season, Real will likely ease to another win and set up a convincing aggregate scoreline.

    Napoli vs AC Milan (0-1)

With the other three ties in this competition all but sealed as Real, Inter Milan and City ease into the semi-finals, there is still one tie with everything to play with just one goal in it as AC Milan heads to Naples.

Napoli and Milan have had a stunning rivalry in the past three weeks with the defending champions of Italy smashing Napoli 4-0 in Naples to deliver their heaviest home defeat in years, despite being 16 points clear at the top of Serie A.

It’s doubtful we’ll see such a dramatic scoreline once more, but with Milan 5-0 up in the past two games against the Italian league leaders, Napoli are going to need to be at their very best to get back in this one.

On the other hand, Napoli’s very best could mean a demolition job and Luciano Spalletti’s men could still end up smashing Milan.

    Inter Milan vs Benfica (2-0)

Despite being statistically one of the best teams in Europe this season with an unbeaten run in Europe until their recent loss to Inter, it’s tough to see how Benfica turns this one around.

Indeed, the club have only lost twice in the Primeira Liga and sit top of the division, but they must now score three times to progress through against Inter.

Inter have had a poor record at the San Siro in recent weeks, as they have lost at home to Juventus and Fiorentina within the past month alone. They also lost to Bayern in the group stages at home 2-0, although they defeated Porto at the San Siro 1-0 in the round of 16.

In reality, it should be a comfortable second leg for Inter.
