Galatasaray picked up four points from six points on offer in the Champions League. A 2-2 draw with FC Copenhagen was followed by a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Man United at Old Trafford on matchday No. 2.
The Turkish team’s performance at Old Trafford was excellent. Head coach Okan Buruk masterminded a strong performance from the team and will hope for another big win against Bayern at home.
There were no recent matches between Galatasaray and Bayern Munich. This will be their first encounter since a 2000 friendly fixture.
Bayern striker Harry Kane go into the match in great form. Kane has 10 goals in all competitions and five assists. Leroy Sane is also in great form going into the match, with seven goals and one assist this season in all matches.
Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi also goes into Champions League matchday No. 3 in fine form. The former Inter and PSG striker has 11 goals in all competitions. Icardi scored the winner against Man United on matchday No. 2.
Icardi has been the team’s main goal threat. Second-leading goalscorer Kerem Akurkoglu has four goals in all competitions.
Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel has several players that could miss the match due to injuries. Winger Serge Gnabry could be out due to a lack of fitness.
Midfielder Noussair Mazraoui is ruled out with a muscle injury. Joining Mazraoui on the sidelines will be Dayot Upamecano, Raphael Guerreiro, Tarek Buchmann, and Gabriel Marusic.
Galatasaray coach Buruk has no new injury issues going into the game and can play a fully fit squad. Wilfried Zaha and Icardi should both feature in the Galatasaray starting XI. Hakim Ziyech and Tete could also start the fixture.
Bayern have played 12 games this season in all competitions and each match ended with over 2.5 goals.
With Kane in form, goals could be scored once more in a Bayern game. The winner of Tuesday’s match in Istanbul will move to the top of Group A.
