Borussia Dortmund welcome AC Milan to Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday as both sides look to make their mark on Champions League Group F.

Joining Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United in the so-called “group of death”, Dortmund and Milan will be eager to picking up their first UCL win of the season on Matchday 2.

While BVB suffered a 2-0 defeat against PSG on Matchday 1, Milan were held to a goalless draw by Newcastle. Who will reign supreme on Wednesday?

Borussia Dortmund head into Matchday 2 on the back of a 3-1 victory over Hoffenheim, courtesy of goals from Niclas Fullkrug, Marco Reus and Julian Ryerson.

As a result, Edin Terzic’s men remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season, having picked up four wins and two draws on home soil.

In fact, Dortmund’s only defeat this season came against PSG on Matchday 1, meaning they have registered five wins and two draws elsewhere.

It is worth remembering that BVB were outclassed by PSG, seeing just 31% possession while facing a barrage of 17 shots in the French capital.

As for AC Milan, they can count themselves unfortunate to have drawn with Newcastle on Matchday 1 after dominating the contest at the San Siro.

Despite racking up 25 shots on home soil – limiting the visitors to a solitary attempt on target – Stefano Pioli’s men failed to find a way through.

Like Dortmund, Milan have recorded a single loss across all competitions this season, picking up six wins and one draw in the process.

Thanks to a 2-0 victory over Lazio last weekend, Milan head into Wednesday’s showdown on a three-game winning streak.

Head-to-head: Dortmund and Milan face each other on four occasions in European competition between 2002 and 2003, with both sides picking up two wins.

The teams also clashed in the pre-season International Champions Cup back in 2017, with Dortmund running out 3-1 winners on that occasion.

Team news: Borussia Dortmund’s injury list contains Thomas Meunier, Mateu Morey and Marcel Sabitzer, who has missed the past two games with a groin problem.

Milan have several injury absentees of their own, including Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Rade Krunic, Pierre Kalulu, Mattia Caldara and Ismael Bennacer.

Given that both sides are searching for their first Champions League win of the season, Wednesday’s clash will likely be a tense and cagey affair.

Forebet predicts that Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan will play out a low-scoring draw at Signal Iduna Park, combining for under 2.5 goals.
