The Blades are not having a good season in the Premier League following promotion from the Championship. Just one point was picked up from the opening seven matches.
That one point came courtesy of a 2-2 draw at home with Everton. Since that draw, Sheffield United have lost their last three matches.
The Blades were outscored 12-1 in their last three matches. Eight of those goals were scored by Newcastle United in an 8-0 loss.
Fulham are 13th in the league standings after taking eight points from their opening seven matches.
Marco Silva’s Fulham aren’t enjoying the same start to the campaign as they did in 2022-23. The Cottagers could experience a bit of sophomore syndrome, now in their second season in the league.
Fulham failed to win their last two matches, drawing with Crystal Palace nil-nil and losing to Chelsea 2-0.
Craven Cottage has not been a particularly strong place for Fulham to play this season. They lost two of their three matches at home.
Sheffield United lost all three matches on the road this season. The team was outscored 6-2 by opponents playing away.
Silva has two players ruled out for Saturday’s match. Winger Adama Traore is out with a thigh muscle injury.
Oluwatosin Adarabioyo is also out of action due to a groin strain. Kenny Tete is in line to return to the team following a small injury issue.
Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom has seven players on the injury list going into the match. As it stands, all seven players will miss Saturday’s trip to Fulham.
George Baldock, William Osula, Rhys Norrington-Davies, Max Lowe, Ben Osborn, John Egan, and Daniel Jebbison are all ruled out of the match on Saturday afternoon.
Heckingbottom is hopeful of getting John Fleck back from a calf injury in time to play.
Fulham scored five goals in their opening seven games. All five goals were scored by different players. Without Aleksandar Mitrovic, Fulham do not have a go-to goalscorer.
