Brazilian Serie A action continues this weekend after some midweek Copa do Brasil action as Internacional welcomes Palmeiras to the Estadio Beira-Rio as fifth takes on 10th in what is turning out to be a huge game for both sides.

It's been a struggle for Internacional this season at times, but they still sit only three points behind Palmeiras in the race for the Copa Libertadores spots after 14 games, despite being five places below them in the table. A win could now rocket them into the top six.

Internacional have won six games so far after 14 outings, losing five and drawing the other three.

They did, however, lose to Fluminense last time out and drew 0-0 with Cruzeiro before that.

Before this, Internacional went on to defeat America-MG in the Serie A, while they also managed to defeat Independiente Medellin 3-1 after a brace from Luiz Adriano and a goal from Mauricio all within the first half.

Internacional, despite the struggles at times in Serie A, have now qualified for the next round of the Copa Libertadores after avoiding a defeat in their six games in Group B.

They managed to draw three games and win the other three after scoring 10 goals and conceding six.

Prior to these recent wins, Internacional also defeated Vasco da Gama 2-1 and beat Coritiba 1-0 as well, meaning the club did go on a eight-game unbeaten run after also beating Bahia and drawing with Santos in the league.

As for Palmeiras, they were beaten by Sao Paulo in midweek in the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals.

Joaquin Piquerez scored for them that day, but a 3-1 aggregate loss means they are out of the competition.

Back in the league, however, Palmeiras are sitting in fifth and in a comfortable spot in the league with just a two-point gap on Flamengo in second.

They are also only adrift of Fluminense by the head-to-head record, as they have now won six games and lost two, drawing the other six.

Last time out in the league, Palemeiras also drew 1-1 with Flamengo after a goal from Dudu in the first half at home.

Alongside this in the past  month, the club have drawn 2-2 with Athletico-PR, lost to Botafogo and Bahia, while also beating Sao Paulo 2-0 away from home.

Forebet predicts a draw in this one and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
