Shanghai Shenhua lead the league, but Shanghai SIPG are right behind them. At the opposite end of the table, Shandong Taishan will try to move away from the bottom three.
Changchun Yatai are unbeaten in four of their last five matches against Meizhou Wuhua in all competitions. Last season, Meizhou picked up their first win against Changchun, winning 1-0 at home.
Changchun go into the midweek match with seven points from their opening 12 on offer. However, the team is winless in back-to-back matches. Changchun played well in attack, scoring six goals. Only four goals were conceded in their opening four games.
Meizhou Wuhua took five points from their opening five matches. They are unbeaten in back-to-back fixtures heading into midweek. Meizhou were outscored 6-5 by their opening five opponents.
Nantong Zhiyun and Zhejiang played four times previously in all competitions. The teams each won a match while drawing twice. This will be their first meeting since 2021.
Zhejiang are bottom of the CSL table with one point from five matches. After losing their opening four games, Zhejiang drew against Wuhan Three Towns last time out, nil-nil.
Nantong are unbeaten in their last three matches with one win and two draws. The team is in midtable after four fixtures and four points off the top three. Nantong do not score many goals, as they have just four goals in four matches.
Shandong Taishan and Chengdu Qianbao played just twice previously, with the teams splitting the matches one win apiece. Shandong Taishan won at home against Chengdu last season 2-1. Chengdu later claimed a home win with a 2-1 score.
Chengdu start midweek five points off league leader Shanghai Shenhua. The team is unbeaten in four matches to start the campaign. This will be Chengdu Qianbao’s four away matches already this season. They won once and drew twice in their three road fixtures.
Shandong are 12th in the standings following a slow start to the season. The team has just one win from five matches. Last time out, Shandong lost 2-1 to Meizhou.
Shanghai SIPG are second in the CSL standings and two points off city rival Shenhua. Port will host Qingdao Jonoon for the first time since 2013. Shanghai SIPG have scored more goal this season (seven) than any other CSL team.
Qingdao took four points from their opening four matches. They are coming off a 3-0 defeat to Wuhan Three Towns. Qingdao were outscored 6-4 across their opening four matches.
Shanghai SIPG are unbeaten in five matches this season, collecting 11 points. The team started well with three straight wins. However, Port drew their last two fixtures. The team drew 1-1 with Shenhua before drawing nil-nil with Tianjin.
