Arsenal will start Premier League matchday No. 27 in third place and two points off first-place Liverpool. By the end of the weekend, the Gunners could be in first place.
Will our football scorer algorithm predictor pick the Gunners to win away against Sheffield United?
Mikel Arteta’s team will play on Monday night at Bramall Lane. By the tie they kick off, Liverpool and Manchester City will have both played.

The Reds will face a tricky trip to the City Ground to face off with Nottingham Forest. Injuries could play a role in the outcome of that match.
Meanwhile, Manchester City will face off with Manchester United at the Etihad on Sunday.
Sheffield United are 20th in the league and 11 points off safety. The Blades’ destiny looks set, with a trip back to the Championship on the horizon.
Still, Sheffield United could play a major role in the title race, if they can take points off Arsenal.
Arsenal are playing red-hot football, however. The Gunners won their last six games and scored 25 times. Meanwhile, the defence conceded just three goals. In each of their last three matches, Arsenal scored 4.0 or more goals.
Of course, those games were again some of the weakest defences in the Premier League. Arsenal put six goals past West Ham, five by Burnley, and four into Newcastle’s goal.
Sheffield United, on the other hand, took four points from the last six games. They are on a two-game losing streak thanks to a 5-0 loss to Brighton and a 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Blades were outscored 17-7 across the last six games.
Arsenal eased to a 5-0 win over Sheffield United at the Emirates earlier this season. Forward Eddie Nkethiah scored a hat-trick while Fabio Vieira and Takehiro Toiyasu added goals.
The scoreline may have flattered Arsenal slightly. Their fourth and fifth goals came after the 88th minute. Only Liverpool have scored more than Arsenal’s 62 goals this season. Against such a poor defence, the Gunners could overtake Liverpool in goals scored.
Bukayo Saka leads Arsenal goals this season. He has 13 goals in 25 appearances. Four of those goals came from the penalty spot. Saka has added seven assists, which leads Arsenal.
The question isn’t can Arsenal win, it’s by how many goals? Our algorithm predicts an Arsenal win with the score finishing 3-0. Our prediction also sees Saka getting onto the scoresheet to claim his 14th goal of the league season.
