While Manchester City are having another sensational season, just as Liveprool and Arsenal compete for the title once more, Manchester United and Chelsea are having two of their worst respective seasons in Premier League history.
With this in mind, let’s take a look at the worst season performances from the ‘Big Six’ in the Premier League era.
As one of the few sides to never face a Premier League relegation, Arsenal have won the competition three times and been competing for the title in the past two campaigns.
However, the past decade has been troublesome for them with consecutive eighth-placed finishes between 2019-2021 and many years without Champions League football.
You have to go all the way back to 1994/95 for Arsenal’s worst-ever Premier League campaign, which ironically came three seasons before they first won the title.
George Graham was still in charge that season but was sacked after it was discovered he had accepted an illegal payment from agent Rune Hauge following Arsenal transfers of John Jensen and Pål Lydersen in 1992.
Stewart Houston took over, but all he could do was guide the Gunners to 12th.
Chelsea have had many topsy-turvy seasons in the Premier League until they managed to find some solidity in the division when Roman Abramovich took over the club in 2003/04, which resulted in five Premier League titles in 13 years thereafter.
The club once put on record one of the worst title defences in history, however, by finishing 10th the year after Jose Mourinho won the title in 2014/15.
Despite that woeful season going down in history for all the wrong reasons, Chelsea's worst campaign in the Premier League era was when they finished 14th under Glenn Hoddle in 1993/94.
Before all the glory of the modern City era, they were once a club deep in the shadows of neighbours United.
In fact, they have been relegated from the Premier League twice, with the first coming in 1995/96 and the second in 2000/01.
Both were terrible seasons, but as they earned fewer points in 2000/01, this season remains their worst-ever.
Although now a regular in European football of some sorts, it took Tottenham Hotspur two decades to piece this together.
With this said, their worst-ever campaign came back in 1993/94 when they finished 15th.
Although this campaign under Erik ten Hag has been woeful, the first season post-Sir Alex Ferguson under David Moyes was still worse.

United finished seventh that year with only 19 wins and had their worst-ever Old Trafford record to date.
Liverpool took 30 years to break their duck and win the league title back, and within this was an array of troubles and finishes outside of European spots.
However, their worst campaign goes all the way back to 1993/94 when they finished eighth.
