We have reached the semi-final stage of the UEFA Champions League. With four teams left in the competition, only a handful of players remain in the race for the Golden Boot.

Erling Haaland and Manchester City fell in the quarter-finals, meaning last season’s top scorer will not defend his crown this year. So, let’s take a closer look at the remaining contenders.

    Kylian Mbappe – Paris Saint-Germain (8 Goals)

By his own high standards, Kylian Mbappe experienced a quiet group-stage campaign, scoring three goals in six games.

Since then, however, the PSG megastar has netted five goals in four knockout clashes.

After bagging a brace against Real Sociedad in the last 16, Mbappe scored twice as PSG thrashed Barcelona 4-1 last time out.

As a result, the Frenchman holds a one-goal lead at the summit of the scoring charts.

Harry Kane – Bayern Munich (7 Goals)

Despite missing out on the Bundesliga title, Harry Kane has enjoyed a remarkable debut season at Bayern Munich.

The Englishman has scored a whopping 42 goals in 42 games, including seven goals in 10 Champions League appearances.

Kane netted four goals in six group games and has since netted three goals in four knockout clashes.

Averaging 0.71 goals per 90 in the UCL this term, the Bayern striker is undoubtedly Mbappe’s closest challenger.

Rodrygo – Real Madrid (5 Goals)

Rodrygo has started all but one of Real Madrid’s 10 Champions League matches this season, scoring five goals along the way.

As a result, the Brazilian winger averages 0.59 goals per 90 and a 68% shot accuracy.

After scoring in three consecutive group games, Rodrygo found the back of the net in both quarter-final legs against Man City.

With a maximum of three games remaining, the 23-year-old could chase down the frontrunners.

Jude Bellingham – Real Madrid (4 Goals)

Jude Bellingham has wasted no time in becoming one of Real Madrid’s most important players.

Following his move from Borussia Dortmund, the 20-year-old has notched 21 goals and 10 assists for Los Blancos.

The Englishman has bagged four goals and four assists in eight Champions League games this season, scoring in four consecutive appearances.

Although he hasn’t netted a UCL goal since November, he could easily climb the scoring charts in the coming weeks.
