Burnley suffered their third straight defeat as Aston Villa beat the Clarets at Turf Moor. First-half goals from Wesley and Jack Grealish put the visitors 2-0 up, while Chris Wood’s late strike proved to be a consolation.

Ayoze Perez opened the scoring against his old club as Leicester dominated Newcastle with an excellent away performance. James Maddison and Hamza Choudhury completed the scoring for the Foxes, while Newcastle only managed to register 23% of the possession.

Watford’s revival under Nigel Pearson continued as Gerard Deulofeu and Abdoulaye Doucoure helped the Hornets to a third win in four league games. Pedro Neto grabbed one back for Wolves, but Christian Kabasele saw red shortly after.

Southampton are up to 12th following victory over an off-form Tottenham side. Danny Ings scored the only goal of the game on 17 minutes, before Spurs’ star striker Harry Kane limped off with a hamstring injury in the second half.

David Moyes’ first game back in charge of West Ham ended in a 4-0 thrashing of Bournemouth. Club captain Mark Nobel scored twice, while Sebastien Haller and Felipe Anderson also got on the scoresheet. The Hammers leapfrogged Bournemouth in the table.

A Gabriel Jesus brace saw Manchester City overcome Everton at the Etihad. Richarlison pulled a goal back for the visitors on 71 minutes, but the Brazilian’s goal wasn’t enough to spark a comeback for the Toffees.

Norwich scored early against Crystal Palace but failed to hold on to their lead. Todd Cantwell put the Canaries in front after just four minutes, but Conor Wickham’s 85th-minute leveler ensured the points were shared at Carrow Road.

In the only game on Thursday, Liverpool beat Sheffield United 2-0 to open up a 13-point lead at the top of the table. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane scored for the Reds – who broke the Premier League’s all-time passing record in the process.
