There were goals galore on Day 9 in Qatar, with a total of 14 scored across the four games. Meanwhile, Brazil and Portugal progressed to the last 16 after beating Switzerland and Uruguay, respectively.

Cameroon and Serbia played out a crazy 3-3 draw before Ghana beat South 3-2. Brazil then claimed a 1-0 victory over Switzerland, while Portugal beat Uruguay 2-0. Here’s a look back at all the action from Day 9 of the World Cup.

Cameroon and Serbia Dish Up Six-Goal Thriller

Serbia came from behind to lead 3-1 against Cameroon in the opening game, thanks to goals from Strahinja Pavlovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Aleksandar Mitrovic. However, the African side mounted a memorable comeback.

Vincent Aboubakar’s phenomenal scooped finish brought Cameroon back into the contest before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting equalised. Consequently, both sides sit on one point at the bottom of Group G.

Kudus Scores Twice as Ghana Beat South Korea 3-2

Next up, South Korea and Ghana attempted to match the early goal-fest. Strikes from Mohammed Salisu and Mohammed Kudus put the Ghanaians in control inside 34 minutes, but a Cho Gue-sung brace turned the game on its head.

The South Koreans finished the game with 64% possession and 22 shots, although Ghana ended up having the last laugh. Kudus scored his second and Ghana’s third to send the Black Stars second in Group H.

Brazil Advance With Slender Win Against Switzerland

A stubborn Switzerland outfit gave a good account of themselves against Brazil, but it was the tournament favorites who eventually came out on top. Ultimately, Casemiro’s sweet strike proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Vinicius Junior appeared to have put the Brazilians ahead midway through the second half, only for his goal to be ruled out for offside. On 83 minutes, however, Casemiro capped off a neat move to fire home the winner.

    Portugal Through After Dispatching Uruguay

Bruno Fernandes bagged a brace against Uruguay to send Portugal into the last 16. Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated the first goal as if he’d scored, but replays showed that Fernandes’ cross might have evaded Ronaldo’s head.

Deep into second-half stoppage time, Fernandes wrapped up the victory with a penalty after a dubious VAR decision. With only one group game remaining, the Euro 2016 champions are five points inside the qualification places in Group H.
