West Brom can halt Manchester United’s mini-revival

West Brom have been a strange team this season. They have been midtable for most of the campaign, but have been flirting with a relegation battle for the last few months.

However, in the typical style of a Tony Pulis side they have now pulled eight points clear of the relegation zone. The Baggies Welsh boss has never been relegated and it does not look like that is about to change this season.

On Sunday the Baggies welcome a resurgent Manchester United to the Hawthorns, as the home side look to move closer to that usual safe mark of 40 points.

Pulis’ side are now three games unbeaten in the top-flight, following wins against Everton, Crystal Palace and an impressive draw ay league leaders Leicester on Tuesday night. The side from the Midlands have also hit five goals in their last two league outings.

Suddenly things are looking up for the Baggies fans. Spirits have suddenly been lifted at Manchester United after the emergence of teenager Marcus Rashford and a four game winning run in all competitions this season.

A third consecutive victory will keep United right in the fight for a top-four place, as they are currently level on points with bitter-rivals Manchester City, who face a very poor Aston Villa side at home on Saturday.

West Brom have the momentum and confidence to trouble the Red Devils on Sunday afternoon. If Louis van Gaal’s injury-hit team believe they can just turn up and pick-up the points in the Midlands then they should think again, because the Baggies are well capable of pulling-off a surprise victory.
