After a ropey start to the campaign, Manchester City look like a team that could win every trophy on offer this season.

Despite a slip up with a 2-1 home loss against Leeds last time out in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola’s team look set to cruise to the English top-flight title.

On Wednesday night a 2-1 victory at Dortmund booked their place in the last four of the Champions League. In truth, ever since the clubs mega-rich and ambitious owners bought the club, becoming champions of European was their main objective.

They wanted to turn City into a dominant force at home and abroad. This season they may well finally achieve that aim.

If they are to win the trophy though, they must negotiate a difficult last-four tie against another highly ambitious outfit in PSG. Just like City’s owners, the guardians of the club from the French capital also have the dream of their club becoming top dogs in the European game.

The likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar were superb in the quarter-finals against Bayern Munich. The pair are likely to cause City’s defence problems. However, until recently the Citizens defence had looked rock solid.

If they get past PSG, then either Spanish giant's Real Madrid or fellow Premier League outfit Chelsea await them in the final.

Los Blancos are the most successful club in the history of the competition, while Chelsea would be tough opponents due to head coach Thomas Tuchel’s tactician nous.

There is still plenty of work to do for Manchester City to achieve their dream of becoming European champions.

However, after exits at the quarter-final stage of the Champions League at the last eight stage, it seems progress has been made this season and they are closer to their holy grail than ever.
