Having racked up 13 assists in 25 appearances, Harry Kane currently leads in the way in the Premier League assists charts, although Jack Grealish (12), Kevin De Bruyne (11) and Bruno Fernandes (11) aren’t far behind.
But which defenders have provided the most assists in the Premier League this season? Let’s take a look at the top five assist-making defenders in England’s top-flight this term.
West Ham are enjoying a phenomenal campaign under the watchful eye of David Moyes, with Aaron Cresswell continuing to produce top-quality performances on a weekly basis.

In fact, no defender has produced more Premier League assists than the former England left-back this season, with Cresswell even contributing two assists in a single game against Leicester City earlier in the campaign.
Lucas Digne missed one game through suspension before missing a further seven matches due to an ankle injury at the end of last year. However, he has still managed to notch up six assists in the Premier League this term.
Granted, all of Digne’s six assists came in his first 12 appearances this season. But with Everton pushing for a Champions League place, there is no reason why he can’t add to his tally between now and the end of the campaign.
It is no secret that Liverpool are enduring a season to forget. Having said that, Andy Robertson cannot be blamed for the defending champions’ recent descent down the Premier League table.
The Scottish left-back has played every single second of Liverpool’s Premier League games this season, chipping in with one goal and five assists along the way, although he hasn’t registered a goal involvement since December.
It could be argued that Luke Shaw is the most improved player in the Premier League this term. The Manchester United man has transformed his game recently, making him a serious threat at both ends of the pitch.
Interestingly, four of Shaw’s five assists this season came in a three-game hot streak in February. The 25-year-old assisted twice in Man Utd’s 9-0 rout of Southampton before contributing again in draws against Everton and West Brom.
Ben Chilwell has found himself in and out of the Chelsea team since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in the Stamford Bridge hot seat. Still, he remains one of the most productive defenders in the Premier League.
As well as scoring two goals, the ex-Leicester star has chalked up four assists in England’s top tier this season, chipping in against Crystal Palace, Southampton, Wolves and Aston Villa.
