According to Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona and France winger Ousmane Dembele could leave Barcelona in the January transfer window. There is major interest in the former Dortmund star, who has not quite lived up to his hype in Catalonia.

Reportedly two of the clubs showing an interest in Dembele are Premier League duo Manchester United and Arsenal. The former has been linked with the winger on numerous occasions in recent seasons, including on deadline day in the summer window.

The winger has been in and out of the Barcelona team since his £117million move from Dortmund in 2017. At times injuries have hampered his Barcelona career, but a lack of regular game time has seemingly contributed to a lack of consistency.

Dembele is still highly-rated and at 23 he is still a big prospect. With his contract expiring in the summer of 2022, both Barcelona and the player himself have some difficult decisions to make in the near future.

An injury to Barcelona teammate Ansu Fati, that is likely to keep the youngster sidelined for four months may represent a chance for Dembele to start games on a more regular basis in the near future.

In the past the Frenchman has supposedly stated his desire to stay with the Catalan giants.

However, Barcelona are reportedly willing to sell Dembele, due to the fact that they do not want to lose him for nothing, especially as they are believed to be in big finance trouble.

The injury to Fati has complicated the issue though, as Dembele may not prove to be more important.

Dembele has not yet fulfil his potential, despite his big billing. However, he still has time to shine. Maybe the winger just needs a move to start enjoying his football, again as he certainly has not been at his best in Catalonia.
