The Welshman must move on to resurrect his career

Gareth Bale looks set to leave the Bernabéu after six seasons with Real Madrid. There have been question marks surrounding the Welshman for some time and with the transfer window now open, the speculation is reaching fever pitch.

Bale joined Real Madrid in 2013 and it’s fair to say his time with the Spanish giants has been a rollercoaster ride. Despite winning the Champions League four times and claiming the 2017 La Liga title, many people associated with club do not consider his time in Madrid as a success.

He has been blighted by injuries, fallen out with managers and even been booed by his own fans. With Zinedine Zidane unlikely to include Bale in his vision for the club going forward, let’s take a look at some of the clubs that will be battling for his signature.

    Manchester United

It seems as though Bale has been linked with a move to Manchester United for a long time now. Whenever speculation has arisen about the Welshman, Old Trafford has always been mentioned as a possible next destination.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now appointed as United’s permanent boss; you would expect him to be backed in the transfer window to build his squad. Alexis Sanchez is likely to leave the club following a dismal season and this would free up space on the wage bill to accommodate for Bale.

Manchester United are a club in transition and Bale could be the perfect signing to elevate them to the next level.

    Tottenham Hotspur

The vast majority of Spurs fans would love to see Bale in the white of Tottenham again. He made a name for himself at White Hart Lane before his big money move to Madrid and would no doubt relish the opportunity to work under current boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Bale’s price tag would make it very hard for Spurs to compete with some of the wealthier clubs in Europe. Whilst the idea of the transfer is appealing to both player and club, it is hard to see Bale rejoining Spurs.

Tottenham’s recent transfer activity has been non-existent but you can’t completely rule out a return to Spurs for Gareth Bale.

    Bayern Munich

Whilst this option might seem a little farfetched, it does make a lot of sense. Bayern’s long-standing wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery have recently left the club and Bale is seen as an ideal replacement.

The Premier League is more than likely going to be Bale’s next destination but a move to the Bundesliga isn’t off the cards. Munich are one of the most successful and richest clubs in Europe and could well swoop for Bale as they look to strengthen in attack.
