The international break often gives fans and experts alike a chance to assess how teams have started their domestic campaigns. One interesting situation in the Premier League is that of Unai Emery’s first few months in charge at Arsenal.

The Spaniard came into the club after veteran French boss Arsene Wenger’s 22-year stint with the Gunners ended in the summer.

So far, the former PSG boss looks to have done a steady job. The team appear to be heading in the right direction, as the Gunners have now recorded six straight wins in the top-flight. One of the most pleasing aspects for Gunners fans is their sides attacking play under Emery.

In fact, in the Premier League, only champions and league leaders Manchester City can better the Gunners goal tally of 19 goals from their first eight league games.

The Gunners attacking prowess has not been restricted to the top-flight either, as the north London side has scored over 2.5 goals in ten of Emery’s 11 games in all competitions this season.

Arsenal have for a long time had a reputation for good attacking football and Emery has continued that tradition. Emery as a coach encourages that style of football anyway, so it is no surprise the Gunners are scoring so freely under the Spaniard.

The Gunners primary objective this season is to return to the Premier League’s top four. The way the north London side have been performing in front of goal, Emery’s team have a good chance of achieving their objective this season.

However, the team from north London still looks vulnerable in defence. If the Gunners can improve their defensive displays, then they have the firepower in the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to land one of those coveted Champions League spots this season.
