Italy’s Euro 2016 points to promising future for Chelsea

Italy’s Euro 2016 points to promising future for Chelsea

Italy produced a fantastic display to see off European champions Spain 2-0 in the last-16 of Euro 2016 on Monday evening. The Azzurri truly deserve it and despite not having any players who would be regarded as stars Antonio Conte’s team just keeps picking-up wins.

In truth the team itself is the star and the players more than the sum of its parts. Italy’s achievement is in no small part down to future-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte. If Chelsea fans were not sure that their new boss could deliver on the big stage they will be now.

They may want the former-Juventus boss to start his Blues career as soon as possible, but I am sure that everybody connected with the club will be encouraged by the Azzurri’s performance in France so far.

Conte is not a guy that seems to divide opinion and is no angel, but as his time with Juventus and his tenure as Italy boss has shown he gets results. Chelsea were short of those last season in a campaign that could only be described as a nightmare.

The new Chelsea boss may have unfinished business with the Azzurri, who face Germany in the last eight of the competition, but when he does rock up at his new club expectations will be high.

Conte is not a man that hides from hard work and as some of his current players have stated about the fiery boss he looks into every detail of the game, so that his team comes out on top.

Chelsea will no doubt be a far stronger team with Antonio Conte at the helm and Italy’s display at Euro 2016 is just proving that Conte is a highly-impressive boss.
