Wales show that they are more than a one man team

Wales recorded a superb 3-0 victory over Russia in Group B of Euro 2016 on Monday night. The victory coupled with England’s draw against Slovakia meant that the Dragons topped their group.

Much of the talk about Wales has surrounded the talent of Gareth Bale, who has now scored three times in his three appearances in France, making the former-Tottenham star the top scorer in the competition.

However, the display against Russia proved that they are very much a team and have a fantastic team spirit. Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been highly-influential from midfield, while much-maligned Joe Allen also produced a stellar performance in the centre of midfield.

Wales have a very decent group of players, with a smattering of quality thrown in and will be confident of progression in the last-16, as the Dragons face one of the best third-place teams in the knockout stages.

With the quality of player in their squad Coleman’s will have been confident of progressing from the group, but as the Welsh boss has stated winning the group was a bonus. Following the Welsh performance against Slovakia and Russia teams will not want to face the Dragons.

Gareth Bale may be the star of the team, but the team as a whole are looking good. One thing that may work against the Dragons is the fact that they will no longer be considered underdogs.

Wales have proven their quality already in France and anybody who believed that they were a one man team will have to think again after their stellar team performances.
