England could be a big threat at Euro 2016

England could be a big threat at Euro 2016

England recorded a remarkable 3-2 win against world champions Germany on Saturday, after coming back from two goals down.  The Three Lions all defied football predictions of a home win.

The Three Lions have been much-maligned in recent years, as boss Roy Hodgson has been perceived as cautious and unadventurous. However, last night’s game revealed that there is real fighting spirit in England’s inexperienced squad.

England are no longer considered a threat to the big teams because of their abysmal record against the other big European nations at major international tournaments. The same old players went through the same underachievement at every tournament.

The golden generation turned out to not even be bronze and failed to live-up to the hype surrounding them. The current group of players has a fresh feel about it, without the weight of poor history at past tournaments dragging them down.

The likes of Eric Dier, Jamie Vardy, Danny Rose and Dele Alli are all inexperienced, in fact Rose was making his international debut, but at no point did any of the England team look overawed against the world champions on their home patch.

Even at two goals down there was a feeling that Hodgson’s side could still get back into the game and that the Three Lions had produced a decent display.

England are either underrated or overrated there seems no middle ground when it comes to the national team, but the current group of players could really be a big threat to the bigger nations at Euro 2016.
