Across the top four tiers of English football, eight clubs remain unbeaten at home in the league so far this season. Liverpool, West Brom and Wycombe are all top their respective leagues, but there are a few surprising teams on the list. So, let’s take a look at the clubs that have turned their stadium into a fortress this season.

    Premier League

    Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp’s side are flying high at the top of the Premier League table. Not only are Liverpool unbeaten at home this season, but they are also yet to taste defeat on the road. The Reds’ defence has leaked more goals than it would’ve liked, but Liverpool’s ability to outscore their opponents has put them in a fantastic position to claim their first top-flight title since 1989/90.

    Leicester City

Brendan Rodgers has transformed Leicester into an extremely solid side. The Foxes boast the best defensive record in the Premier League this season and currently sit second in the table. Leicester have conceded eight goals in the league this season, with just three of those coming at the King Power Stadium. Rodgers’ side are also the second-highest scorers in the division.

    Arsenal

Arsenal are enduring a below par season, so it’s surprising that the Gunners are unbeaten at the Emirates in 2019/20. Unai Emery’s men are without a win in five league games and the Spaniard is under pressure to keep his job. However, if Arsenal can take their impressive home record on the road, then Emery may be able to turn things around.

    Championship

    West Bromwich Albion

The Baggies are two points clear at the top of the Championship following a convincing 4-1 home victory over Bristol City. A strong home record is vital to a promotion push in the second tier, so if Slaven Bilic’s side can keep up their unbeaten record at The Hawthorns, we could see West Brom back in the Premier League next season.

    Preston North End

Only West Brom have scored more goals than Preston in the Championship this season, but their defensive record is a cause for concern. With that being said, Preston are sitting pretty in the play-off places at the moment thanks to their solid performances at Deepdale. Could their promising home form see them make a return to top-flight action?

    League One

    Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe have only lost one of their 19 league games this season and this remarkable run has seen them cement their place at the top of the League One table. The Chairboys haven’t been blowing teams away this season, but after winning three of their last four home games 1-0, they are clearly doing enough to get the job done.

    Portsmouth

It’s fair to say that Portsmouth would be in a far worse position if it wasn’t for their unbeaten record at Fratton Park this season. The south coast side are tenth in League One, but their impressive home form has saved them from slipping down the table. With ten goals scored in their last three league games, Pompey are on the up.

    League Two

    Port Vale

Port Vale are currently ninth in League Two and this is largely down to their unbeaten record at Vale Park. John Askey’s side have lost five of their 19 league games this term, but none of those defeats have come on home soil. Port Vale will be hoping their home form can help them end a three-year stay in the fourth tier.
