On Saturday the 12th of June, the focus at the European Championships switches to Group B and we have a fixture between Denmark and Finland to enjoy.

The game will take place at Telia Parken, in Copenhagen, giving the Danes home advantage and it has been announced Denmark will allow 12,000 fans to attend Euro 2020 games.

Denmark come into the 2020 European Championship in good form having remained undefeated in 10 of their last 11 games in all competitions.

They are undefeated in each of their last 5 fixtures in all competitions, including wins over Israel, Moldova, and Austria in 2022 World Cup qualifying, the latter of which was a good 4-0 away victory.

Denmark were held to a 1-1 draw in Germany and defeated Bosnia at home during their preparation for the tournament.

In terms of the European Championship itself, Denmark have found it difficult to win matches and they have picked up just a single victory from their last 5 games in the tournament.

However, you must go back to 2012 to find the last time the Danes participated in the competition so results in that event may not be much to go by in anticipation of this fixture.

Recent victories over England and Sweden show Denmark are capable of beating good teams.

Finland have qualified for the European Championship for the first time in their history so it is a massive occasion for them.

However, Finland will want to do themselves justice and recent results suggest they are going to struggle to qualify for the knockout stages of the 2020 European Championship.

Finland come into this match having failed to win any of their last 6 games. They have been defeated by Wales in the Nations League plus Switzerland, Sweden, and Estonia in the build up to the competition, the latter of which was a disappointing result.

Finland started their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-2  draw at home against Bosnia and a good 1-1 draw in Ukraine.

Trends show Finland have been struggling to keep clean sheets in recent matches. They have failed to keep a single clean sheet in their last 7 games in all competitions.

Looking ahead to the team news and Denmark have a quality goalkeeper in Kasper Schmeichel and there is plenty of experience throughout the team.

Expect to see Simon Kjær, Thomas Delaney, Christian Eriksen, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, and Yussuf Poulsen start the match.

Finland will be looking towards striker Teemu Pukki to score the goals to win the game. Tim Sparv will captain the team from midfield while Lukáš Hrádecký of Bayer Leverkusen will play in goal.

Denmark will see this as the perfect fixture to begin their 2020 European Championship campaign with a victory.

We could see both teams scoring in this match but the Danes have the superior quality throughout the two teams and should come away with maximum points.
