The other 2nd leg tie on Tuesday evening in the Copa do Brasil features the clash between Serie A side, Sao Paulo, taking on Serie D outfit, 4 de Julho, at the Morumbi Stadium with the hosts desperate to overhaul the one-goal deficit from the 1st leg.
Sao Paulo were handed a 3-2 defeat away from home in the 1st leg at 4 de Julho’s Estádio Municipal de Ytacoatiara and Sao Paulo then went on to succumb to another defeat in Serie A immediately afterwards, losing 2-0 on the road at Atletico GO to make it two losses on the trot.

Sao Paulo will therefore be desperate to set the record straight here on Tuesday night in this upcoming 2nd leg of this 3rd round tie in the Copa do Brasil but it may not be easy as 4 de Julho now have something to defend.
The hosts have managed just two wins in their last five home ties in the domestic cup competition which were against Fortaleza (on penalties) and Flamengo while also drawing twice as well with stalemates against Athletico PR and Gremio, so they’ve really drawn three of these five games in normal time.
4 de Julho are now just 90 minutes away from dumping their Serie A opponents out of the Copa do Brasil and the 1st leg result showed that the Serie D visitors are no pushovers and they’ll be equally as desperate to hang onto this lead on Tuesday evening.
4 de Julho have progressed to the 3rd round of this season’s Copa do Brasil competition after recording wins against Confianca in the 1st round (1-0) and Cuiaba in the 2nd round, although they required penalties to progress to the 3rd round.
Last week’s 1st leg 3-2 win over Sao Paulo makes it three wins on the trot but it’s worth mentioning that all three victories have been achieved on home turf at their Estádio Municipal de Ytacoatiara, while the visitors have only played one away tie in this competition to date, which ended in a 3-2 loss away at Ceara back in 2005.
There’s limited history between Sao Paulo and 4 de Julho in terms of previous meetings with 4 de Julho’s 3-2 win in the 1st leg being the only match they’ve ever played against each other.
However, this 2nd leg could end in a draw with 4 de Julho progressing to the next round at their Serie A opponents’ expense.
