Levante and Cadiz may have to share the spoils Friday night brings us action from the Spanish top flight as Levante play host to Cadiz at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia in the first of the weekend’s final fixtures of this season’s La Liga campaign.

Although Levante have failed to win any of their last seven matches overall in La Liga, Friday night’s hosts will have no relegation fears as they prepare for this final match of the season as they possess a comfortable seven-point margin over the bottom three.

Nevertheless, having lost five of these seven games, Levante will be keen to end their season on a high note as they look to improve upon just two points earned out of the last possible 21 on offer, thanks to draws with Deportivo Alaves and Barcelona in 2-2 and 3-3 draws respectively.

The bigger picture shows that Levante have managed to win just two of their last 13 matches overall which came in the form of wins against Valencia and Eibar, while also winning just one of their previous 10 games on home soil but they do possess an encouraging record against Cadiz, being unbeaten in the previous four meetings at home against their visitors.

Onto Cadiz then, and the visitors have enjoyed a stable return in the Spanish top flight after a 14-year absence as they currently occupy 12th place in the La Liga standings and hold a 10-point cushion above the bottom three prior to this final match of the season.

Rather predictably, Cadiz’s results this term have been inconsistent but the visitors have picked up the odd win here and there along with points picked up in draws and have more or less held their own and stayed afloat, successfully avoiding the relegation battle below them.

Recent wins against Eibar, Valencia, Getafe, Granada and Huesca have helped steer Cadiz away from the bottom three but having managed to win just two of their last 14 matches on their travels, Cadiz may have their work cut out to pick up all three points here on Friday night.

Five of these 14 matches have ended in stalemate, seven in defeats, while rare victories at Getafe and Granada have been scant reward for their troubles on the road.

Therefore, both Levante and Cadiz look to be fairly well-matched ahead of this encounter and the honours could end up even as they settle for a point apiece.
