Marcelo Bielsa’s team are 10th in the Premier League table. Six points have them off of the Europa League Conference qualification place. However, based on the teams in front of them, it is unlikely the Whites will qualify for Europe.
Leeds United thrashed Southampton in the reverse league fixture 3-0. All three goals came in the second half as Patrick Bamford, Stuart Dallas, and Ralphinha found the back of the net.
The Whites are fifth in the current Premier League form table. They took 11 points from the last 18 available scoring 10 times and giving up five goals. Southampton obtained seven points from the last 18 offered to them. They were outscored 10-8 over the course of those six matches.
Hasenhuttl has four players on the Southampton injury list going into the game. The duo of midfielder Oriol Romelu and defender Jan Bednarek are both doubts for the game. Ryan Bertrand is ruled out of the game with a calf injury while William Smallbone is ruled out with an ACL injury.
Southampton’s Che Adams is in brilliant form going into matchday 37. He has nine goals and five assists in 35 league appearances. Adams has scored a goal in each of Southampton’s last two matches.
Bielsa has five players in the Elland Road treatment room. Defender Robin Koch, midfielder Adam Forshaw, forward Helder Costa, and midfielder Mateusz Klich are all ruled out due to their respective injuries. Pablo Hernandez could return to the team following a late fitness test.
Leeds United forward Rodrigo Moreno is playing well. He has six goals in 24 matches for Leeds United this season. Three of those six goals have come in Leeds United’s last two Premier League matches. Rodrigo scored twice in just 32 minutes of football against Burnley on Saturday.
The Whites won the reverse fixture against Southampton 3-0. Matchday 37 should finish differently between the sides. Southampton should be far more competitive with Adams and Danny Ings both playing well.
Leeds United should do the double over Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday night. This time, the teams should finish with both scoring and over 2.5 goals being tallied.
Leeds United saw the last two league matches finish with over 2.5 goals. Southampton also saw over 2.5 goals in their last two games.
