Tottenham Hotspur welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to North London on Sunday afternoon, aiming to keep their fading hopes of European football alive.

Spurs currently sit seventh in the Premier League table on 56 points – 11 points ahead of twelfth-place Wolves.

Following a promising run of two wins and a draw, Tottenham were beaten 3-1 by Leeds United at Elland Road last time out.

Son Heung-min equalised midway through the first half, but Spurs were unable to convert any of their other ten attempts into goals.

Ryan Mason’s side crushed already-relegated Sheffield United 4-0 the weekend before last, with Gareth Bale netting an impressive hat-trick.

However, Tottenham were ultimately outplayed by Leeds and now their chances of securing European football for next season look a lot slimmer.

Only three teams – Man City, Man Utd and Leicester – have scored more Premier League goals than Spurs this term.

That said, Tottenham have the third-worst defensive record in the top seven, while a couple of teams below them have conceded fewer goals.

On the flip side, Wolves secured a much-needed victory over Brighton last weekend – coming from behind to win 2-1.

Nuno’s men were trailing until the 76th minute, before late goals from Adama Traore and Morgan Gibbs-White turned the tie around.

Wolves had only managed to win two of their nine matches prior to getting the better of Brighton – recording three draws and four defeats along the way.

However, they have now won three of their previous five outings and could even secure a top-half finish if they carry on the way they’re going.

Head-to-head: Wolves and Tottenham played out a 1-1 draw at Molineux in the reverse fixture earlier in the campaign.

Spurs have only managed to win one of their last four games against Wolverhampton, with one draw and two defeats coming during that period.

Team news: Tottenham only have one injury concern at the moment, with left-back Ben Davies likely to miss the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, Wolves currently have four injury absentees – Raul Jimenez, Pedro Neto, Fernando Marcal and Jonny.

Both Tottenham and Wolves have been wildly inconsistent recently, but Spurs are expected to get the better of Nuno’s side on home soil.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score on Sunday. However, Tottenham are likely to net over 2.5 goals on their way to claiming all three points.
