On Thursday night, the teams will meet for the third time this season with Borussia Dortmund the favourites to lift the trophy. The cup final will be Leipzig’s second in three seasons. They fell two seasons ago to Bayern Munich in the final.
Julian Nagelsmann aims to bring Leipzig their first major trophy. Die Roten Bullen have been so close to silverware since arriving in the Bundesliga in 2016, yet have come up short each time.
Hee-chan Hwang started against Borussia Dortmund at the weekend, but is likely to start on the bench with Alexander Sorloth getting the nod up front. Yussuf Poulsen is back from injury and could play a part in the game.

The last time a coach appearing in the final was set to join Bayern Munich in the offseason (Niko Kovac and Eintracht Frankfurt 2018) they won the title.
Unfortunately for Nagelsmann, RB Leipzig have been terrible against Borussia Dortmund historically. Die Roten are unlikely to lift the DFB Pokal this week as Borussia Dortmund win their fifth DFB Pokal all-time.
Like their Bundesliga match last weekend, Borussia Dortmund could win by a similar 2-1 scoreline as both sides get on the scoresheet.
