With just four matches remaining of this season’s La Liga campaign and with a useful six-point cushion over their visitors, Granada, Real Betis will be looking to keep their rivals for 7th place in La Liga at arms length when they play host in Monday night’s clash at their Estadio Benito Villamarín.

Real Betis have done just about enough to be in the driving seat to claim the last remaining European spot in the Spanish top flight as the hosts have lost just one of their last 12 matches overall.

That defeat came in the form of a narrow 1-0 loss away from home at 4th placed Sevilla but Real Betis have produced some solid and stubborn results of late to stake their claim for a Europa League spot next season.

Five wins from a previous six-match stretch saw Real Betis pick up vital victories over Villarreal, Getafe, Cadiz, Deportivo Alaves and Levante, but the hosts have been held to draws in each of their last six matches overall.

Real Betis are unbeaten in their last six matches at home.

Onto Granada, and the visitors are just one league position below their hosts but trail Real Betis by a six-point margin so Granada must take all three points in this Monday night clash at the Estadio Benito Villamarín if they’re to remain in the hunt for a possible top seven finish.

Recent results have produced mixed outcomes though for Granada as their last 10 matches overall in La Liga have yielded five wins but also five defeats but although Granada have recorded a total of 13 wins to date this season, nine of these victories were achieved on home turf at their Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes.

Results away from home therefore have been more modest and this certainly looks to be the case as the visitors have registered just two wins out of their last 11 matches on their travels but they’ve won two of their last three on the road with victories at Real Valladolid and most impressive of all, a 2-1 win away at Barcelona.

Real Betis’s recent spate of stalemates may come into play again on Monday night as the hosts just need to avoid defeat in order to scupper any plans that Granada have of overhauling them into 7th spot and a draw perhaps looks a likely outcome here.
