However, the home team trail the Eagles by eight points and would need a major collapse from the Lisbon outfit to catch them this season.
A poor recent run of form has hindered their prospects of finishing in the top-three, as they head into this clash on the back of just one win in their last five Primeira Liga outings. They have also suffered two straight league defeats against Sporting and last time out Maritimo.
Sporting Braga have been inconsistent on home soil of late in the Portuguese top-flight, as they have won just once in their last four home matches.
Pacos de Ferreira are experiencing are a good campaign and currently sit in the last Europa League qualifying spot. The visitors are seven points clear of 6th place Vitoria Guimaraes.
They would have been in a more comfortable position if it were not for some poor recent form, including winning just once in six league outings. That victory came last time out, as they recorded a 1-0 win over Belenenses to end a five-game winless run in the Portuguese top-flight.
One of the reasons for the visitor’s poor recent results is their away form, as they are winless in six league matches on their travels. In fact, a 1-1 draw at Rio Ave in their last game on the road ended a five-game losing streak on their travels for Pepa’s team.
Forebet predicts that Sporting Braga will record a victory in a low-scoring encounter to just about keep their hopes of landing a top-three spot alive.
