Wolverhampton Wanderers have hit a vein of form late in the Premier League campaign. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s team are on a two-game winning streak and will aim to take a third consecutive win versus Burnley on Sunday at Molineux.

Burnley are just six points above 18th-place Fulham in the relegation survival race. The Clarets have lost three straight games. They have benefitted from Fulham’s dip in form over the last month, helping to keep them out of danger.

The Clarets have recorded positive results against Wolverhampton Wanderers in four straight league matches.

Two of those games ended in wins and two in draws. However, based on form, Wolverhampton Wanderers go into the game as favourites to win at full-time.

Wolves took seven points from the last 18 on offer in the league. They scored a mere five goals while eight were conceded. Without striker Raul Jimenez, Wolves have struggled in front of goal this season.

Burnley took five points from their last six on offer. They scored just 11 goals over the course of those six fixtures. Sean Dyche’s team are not fluid in the final third and are built on keeping scorelines low thanks to their defence.

The Clarets have scored the league’s third-fewest goals in 2020-21 with 26. They average just 0.81 goals per match. Wolves haven’t been much better scoring 32 times in 32 games. Santo’s team average one goals a game.

Five names are on Santo’s injury list going into the game. Pedro Neto is recovering from a knee injury and is ruled out.

Jonny Otto is also out due to a knee problem. Ruben Neves, Fernando Marcal, and Jimenez are also ruled out of the match.

Wolves will rely on Willian Jose for goals at the weekend. He scored his first goal for the team since joining in January against Sheffield United last weekend.

Dyche could be without goalie Nick Pope due to a shoulder injury. He is in line to play but will be a matchday decision. Dyche will be without the injured duo of Robbie Brady and Ashley Barnes.

Wolves have improved in recent weeks with back-to-back games ending in wins. Santo’s team should claim a third straight victory and inflict more worry on Burnley in the race for Premier League survival.

Both teams should get on the scoresheet with Wolves edging Burnley as over 2.5 goals are tallied. Burnley could lose ground in the relegation fight.
