Real Madrid punched their ticket to the Champions League semifinals on Wednesday night against Liverpool. Now, Zinedine Zidane’s team will face off with Chelsea in the final four.
The season could get even sweeter for Zidane. Los Blancos are just one point off of first-place Atletico Madrid following a 2-1 win in El Clasico.

Thanks to Real Madrid’s form, leading bookies have them as favourites at 6/4 to win La Liga and not leaders Atletico Madrid.
Getafe are next up for the reigning champions. Jose Bordalas’s team are 15th in the standings going into the weekend. They are winless in five straight games and just four points above the relegation zone.
Real Madrid are unbeaten against Getafe in 15 straight games in all competitions. Fourteen of those 15 games ended in wins for Real Madrid.
The reverse fixture played at the Di Stefano Stadium finished 2-0 in favour of Los Blancos. Karim Benzema and Ferland Mendy scored in the second half to give the team the win after a scoreless first period.
Zidane will be without a few key players for the trip to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez. Casemiro and Nacho Fernandez are both ruled out due to suspension.
Lucas Vazquez is finished for the season following a knee injury. Raphael Varane, Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos are all three doubts.
Bordalas has injury worries as well going into the match. Dario Poveda has a knock and is a doubt. Sofian Chakla is ruled out with a foot injury.
Cucho could return from an ankle sprain while Erick Cabacao is unavailable due to a meniscus injury. Enes Unal is a doubt following a COVID-19 positive test.
One player to potentially watch out for this weekend is Getafe’s John Joe Patrick Finn. The 17-year-old is an Irish footballer that grew up in Madrid and played in Real Madrid’s youth system before moving to Canillas, Alcobendas, and Getafe.
He made his pro debut in December and has been a regular on the bench. Finn is an attacking player that could be played against Real Madrid in hopes of enticing clubs to sign him.
Real Madrid are on a great run of form and favourites to win the La Liga title for a second straight season. Zidane has some injury and suspension issues.
However, the coach should lead Real madrid to a second win to nil against Getafe this season. Getafe do not have the firepower to upset the 13-time Champions League winners.
