Lyon will be looking to set the record straight on Sunday in their upcoming clash against Angers at their Groupama Stadium after enduring a three-match spell without a win in Ligue 1.
Recent 1-1 draws with Reims and Lens (both away from home) along with a 4-2 defeat at home to PSG have resulted in Lyon dropping down to 4th place on the Ligue 1 standings but despite their recent mini-slump, the hosts are still just two points adrift of the top two prior to this Sunday’s encounter.

Lyon have won just two of their last seven matches overall in the French top flight which were gained over Brest and Rennes but losses to Montpellier and PSG at home have pegged the hosts back.
Results at home in recent times have been a little hit-or-miss having won three and lost three in their last six matches but they do hold a good record over Angers, winning the last four meetings on the trot and recording a 6-0 rout of their visitors in the last meeting at home.
Angers have also hit a road-block in recent weeks as the visitors have managed to pick up just the one win out of their previous nine matches overall in the French top flight which has resulted in Angers dropping down to 11th place on the Ligue 1 standings.
That solitary win came in the shape of a 1-0 win away from home at Metz but defeats against Nice, Nantes and Saint-Etienne have outweighed Angers’s one win and the other five draws that they’ve been involved in too.
Angers have also found picking up wins on the road hard to come by too as the visitors have managed to register just one win out of their last seven matches on their travels which not only includes defeats at Monaco, Bordeaux and Nice but they’ve also failed to score in five of these last seven away matches also.
Angers had earlier made a promising start on the road as the visitors had picked up four wins from their opening six matches and had lost just twice in their first nine matches on their travels, but they’ve been unable to maintain their early momentum as they’ve managed just two additional wins from their subsequent 10 matches.
As mentioned earlier, Lyon hold a decent record against Angers and the hosts look set to bounce back with a straightforward win here.
