After putting together a stubborn six-match unbeaten run in Serie A, Torino have since slipped to back-to-back defeats in the Italian top flight against Crotone and Inter Milan.

Wednesday night’s hosts sitting in the bottom three ahead of this crucial upcoming clash against Sassuolo at their Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

Torino had only picked up the one win though during their recent unbeaten run which came in the shape of a 1-0 win away from home at Cagliari while the rest of their results during this period all ended in stalemates, with three of the five draws being score-draws.

Torino are still looking for their first home win of the season though so it may be best to look at the goals market here; indeed, nine of Torino’s 12 home matches to date have resulted in both teams scoring, so this looks the best option on Wednesday night.

The hosts are expected to be without defender N’Koulou (illness) while fellow defender Singo is rated as doubtful.

Onto Sassuolo and the hosts recorded a welcome 3-2 home win against Hellas Verona on the weekend in Serie A to lift themselves up into 8th place on the Italian top flight ladder but their prospects of a possible top six finish have all but evaporated as they trail 6th placed Roma by an 11-point margin.

A nine-game sequence yielding just the one win for Sassuolo from mid-January through to early March has effectively ended any hopes of European involvement for next season but it’s interesting to note that nine of Sassuolo’s last 10 league matches in Serie A have resulted with both teams scoring.

Sassuolo had started the season in bright fashion, especially away from home where they were unbeaten in their opening seven matches on their travels, picking up five wins in the process, but the victories have dwindled since the turn of the year.

In their subsequent six matches since the start of January, Sassuolo have managed just one away win which was at Crotone, but nine of their 13 away matches have seen both teams score.

The visitors will be without the services of midfielder Bourabia and defender Romagna who are suffering from muscle and knee injuries respectively.

Each of the previous six meetings have resulted in both teams scoring and this trend could continue on Wednesday night.
