Molde will be looking to overturn a 2-0 deficit when they face Granada in the second leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie on Thursday.

Goals from Jorge Molina and Roberto Soldado saw Granada win the first leg, despite seeing just 44% possession on home soil.

However, the Spanish side did manage to record 12 shots (six on target), while Martin Ellingsen was sent off for Molde.

The Norwegians lost two of their six group games earlier in the campaign, finishing eight points behind Arsenal in Group B.

Molde then secured a shock 5-3 aggregate win over German outfit Hoffenheim in the Round of 32 to book their place in the last 16.

The Norwegian team’s domestic season finished back in December, meaning they haven’t played many competitive games since then.

Molde ended up finishing second in the 2020 Eliteserien standings – 19 points behind champions Bodo/Glimt.

It is worth noting that Molde have only lost one of their last eight home matches in the Europa League, with each of the previous three producing over 2.5 goals.

Meanwhile, Granada have lost just two of their previous 12 Europa League matches, scoring an average of two goals per game in their away games this term.

The Spanish club only lost one of their six group games this season, finishing one point behind PSV Eindhoven in Group E.

Remarkably, Granada secured a shock 3-2 aggregate win over Napoli in the previous round, before beating Molde 2-0 in last week’s first leg.

It is also worth considering that Granada have won two of their last three La Liga matches, having failed to win any of their six prior to that.

Granada now find themselves eighth in the Spanish top-flight, although they are still nine points off the European places.

Head-to-head: Interestingly, Molde and Granada had never previously faced each other before last week’s first leg.

Apart from Granada’s 2-0 win over Molde last time around, there are no other results to consider for this matchup.

Team news: Molde will be without winger Ola Brynhildsen on Thursday after the 21-year-old suffered a fractured leg.

Granada have three injury absentees at the moment, with Neyder Lozana, Luis Milla and Luis Suarez all currently sidelined.

Molde pushed Granada all the way in the first leg, but the Spanish team were ultimately able to outclass the Norwegian minnows.

Forebet predicts that Granada will once again score over 1.5 goals on their way to victory against Molde on Thursday.
