Barcelona may have avoided defeat in Paris in midweek when they held PSG to a 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes in the 2nd leg of their Champions League tie but Monday night’s hosts were sent packing out of the competition by a 5-2 aggregate.

Barcelona will now concentrate upon the next matter in hand which is to attempt to make up ground on the La Liga leaders, Atletico Madrid, when they play host to bottom outfit, Huesca, at their Nou Camp Stadium and having won 10 of their last 11 matches overall, the hosts look in excellent shape to grab all three points on Monday evening.

The bigger picture shows that Ronald Koeman’s side have now avoided defeat in their last 16 matches in the Spanish top flight but they still trail Atletico by a six-point margin heading into this weekend’s action.

After a slow start at home, Barcelona have quickly gathered momentum as the hosts are now unbeaten in their last 10 matches at the Nou Camp, winning seven of these while six of these seven wins also produced three goals or more.

Defenders, Araujo, Pique and Roberto are all sidelined along with midfielder Coutinho and forward Fati.

SD Huesca sit bottom of La Liga and four points adrift of safety prior to this weekend’s action in the Spanish top flight following last weekend’s 4-3 defeat at home to Celta Vigo while a total of just three league wins all season hasn’t done the visitors any favours either.

Two of these three rare wins have been achieved on home turf at Huesca’s Estadio El Alcoraz with victories against Deportivo Alaves and Granada, but this of course means that Huesca have managed to record just one win on their travels in this campaign.

Huesca’s results away from home have been woeful as the visitors have managed just 1 win, 6 draws but also suffered 6 defeats in what has been a terrible La Liga campaign, while the bigger picture shows that Huesca have won just one out of their last 20 matches on the road.

Defenders Luisinho and Silva along with midfielder Mosquera are all expected to miss out with injuries.

The previous two meetings at the Nou Camp have produced 8-1 wins on both occasions for Barcelona and another high-scoring game could be on the cards here with Barcelona also grabbing the three points.
