Slavia Prague welcome Rangers to Sinobo Stadium on Tuesday for the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie.

Both teams are sitting miles clear at the top of their respective domestic leagues at the moment, with Rangers having wrapped up the Scottish Premiership title at the weekend.

Slavia Prague won four of their six group games earlier in the campaign, finishing second in Group C – three points behind Bayer Leverkusen.

After sealing a goalless draw against Leicester in the first leg of their Round of 32 tie, Slavia beat the English club 2-0 to qualify for the last 16.

Back home, the Czech champions remain unbeaten in the Czech First League, having secured 18 wins and four draws this season.

Slavia currently sit 14 points clear of second-place Sparta Prague, scoring 63 goals while conceding just 15.

Slavia have also lost just one of their previous seven Europa League games, meaning that Rangers won’t have it all their own way on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Rangers secured their first Scottish Premiership title for ten years at the weekend after Celtic failed to beat Dundee United.

Steven Gerrard’s men are also unbeaten domestically this term, recording 28 wins and four draws in 32 games.

Remarkably, Rangers have netted 77 goals in the Scottish Premiership this season, conceding just nine in reply.

Not only have Rangers won their last four Europa League games, but they have also lost just three of their last 29 games in the competition.

It is also worth noting that Rangers have scored over 1.5 goals in each of their previous six Europa League matches.

Head-to-head: Slavia and Rangers have never faced each other before, meaning there are no previous results to assess for this matchup.

Team news: Slavia quartet David Hovorka, Petr Sevcik, Ibrahim Traore and Michal Beran are currently sidelined through injury.

Meanwhile, Rangers only have one injury concern ahead of Thursday’s game, with Nikola Katic a long-term absentee.

With Slavia and Rangers both enjoying outstanding runs right now, this is destined to be a competitive match between two solid teams.

Forebet predicts that Thursday’s game will produce over 3.5 goals. However, the draw is looking like the most probable outcome at this stage.
