Borussia Dortmund hold a 3-2 advantage over Sevilla as the two sides prepare for the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie on Tuesday.

Sevilla took the lead after just seven minutes in the first leg, with Suso putting the Spanish team ahead on home soil.

However, Dortmund responded by netting three goals before half-time. Mahmoud Dahoud scored a sublime long-range effort, before Erling Haaland bagged a brace.

Luuk de Jong pulled a goal back for Sevilla late on, but despite finishing the game with just 34% possession, Borussia Dortmund managed to hold on.

Since then, Dortmund have recorded three wins and one loss. After beating rivals Schalke 4-0, BVB claimed a 3-0 victory over Arminia.

Dortmund then beat Borussia Monchengladbach 1-0 to progress into the German Cup semi-finals, but they were outclassed by Bayern Munich last time out.

Haaland netted another double to give Dortmund a 2-0 lead inside nine minutes at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, yet Bayern eventually won 4-2.

Dortmund now sit sixth in the Bundesliga table, four points shy of the top four and a whopping 16 points behind frontrunners Bayern.

Meanwhile, Sevilla have also played four matches since the first leg, although they have only managed to win once in that time.

The Spaniards beat Osasuna 2-0, but following back-to-back losses to Barcelona, Sevilla were beaten 2-1 by Elche on Saturday.

Sevilla clocked up 64% possession last time out, as well as 11 shots, but they failed to make the most of their dominance.

Consecutive league defeats mean that Sevilla now find themselves fourth in La Liga, five points behind third-place Real Madrid.

Head-to-head: As we know, Dortmund claimed a 3-2 victory over Sevilla in the first leg, which took place three weeks ago.

Dortmund’s only previous home game against Sevilla came during the 2010/11 Europa League campaign, with Sevilla winning 1-0 on that occasion.

Team news: Dortmund have two injury absentees at the moment, with Marcel Schmelzer and Axel Witsel currently sidelined. Meanwhile, Sevilla have no injury concerns heading into the second leg.

If the first leg is anything to go by, we are destined to see plenty of goals on Tuesday. However, the draw looks like the most probable outcome.

Forebet predicts that Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla will both score over 1.5 goals, with a draw the most likely result. Thanks to their first-leg advantage, Dortmund are expected to advance.
