AC Milan returned to winning ways at the weekend as they beat Roma 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico but remain 4pts behind local rivals Inter Milan who top the Serie A table.
Udinese secured a 1-0 win at home to Fiorentina on Sunday and could move into the top half of the table with a win against AC Milan on Wednesday.
Italian giants, AC Milan have won four of their last seven encounters with Udinese, including the pair’s reverse league fixture in November.
Both teams have scored in five of the last seven meetings between these two clubs and over 2.5 goals have been scored in both of the duo’s last two head-to-heads in Serie A.
Both teams have scored in three of AC Milan’s last four matches, which suggests that Udinese will get their chances to score on Tuesday. The visitors have scored in four of their last five league games, including two goals in their last away game against Parma.
Udinese actually edge the form guide with three wins, two draws and just one defeat from their last six matches, but AC Milan have outperformed their guests in all departments so far this season.
Ante Rebic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mario Mandzukic and Ismaël Bennacer look set to miss Tuesday’s game through injury and it will be interesting to see how the hosts perform without their star striker.
Ibrahimovic has scored 14 league goals for AC Milan this season and keeping the aging Swede fit will be vital to the club’s title challenge. Roberto Pereyra and Marvin Zeegelaar are both suspended for the trip to Milan, while Deulofeu, Forestieri, Pussetto, Jajalo and Prödl are all expected to miss the game through injury.
With all of the above in mind, AC Milan remain the favourites to win on Tuesday night. All of the stats suggest that both teams are likely to score and at least three goals will be produced in this one.
The hosts will be relying on the likes of Kessie and Leao to score the goals they will need to secure all 3pts on Tuesday as they will be without the goalscoring ability of Ibrahimovic, Rebic and Mandzukic.
