Saturday’s hosts, Borussia Moenchengladbach, will be looking to break back into the top six of the Bundesliga when they play host to lowly visitors, Koln, at their Stadion im BORUSSIA-PARK and in turn extend their unbeaten run in the German top flight.

A solid looking sequence of six matches without a loss has helped maintain M’gladbach’s challenge for a possible top six finish and having won four of these six matches with victories gained over Arminia Bielefeld, Bayern Munich, Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund, the hosts will be in confident mood here.

Three of these four wins have been achieved on home turf at their Stadion im BORUSSIA-PARK while the bigger picture shows that Moenchengladbach have suffered just three defeats throughout this season’s campaign to date, only one of which has been at home.

A solid home record includes five wins, four draws and just the one defeat out of their 10 matches so far this term and together with just one defeat out of their last 13 matches at home, M’gladbach have also won their last three home matches on the trot.

At the other end of the Bundesliga table, Koln recorded a much-needed 3-1 home win against Arminia Bielefeld which helped lift the visitors up into 14th place and two positions above the relegation play-off spot, but there’s still only one point separating them from the drop zone.

Koln’s successes this season have been modest but it’s interesting to note that of their total of four league wins to date this season, three of these have been collected away from home with victories achieved at Borussia Dortmund, Mainz and Schalke.

Despite possessing a poor record at home, Koln have more or less held their own on their travels, winning three, drawing three and losing three so far on the road, but they’ve picked up that impressive win at Dortmund which proves they’re capable of causing the odd upset.

However, the bigger picture shows that Koln have managed to win just three out of their last 14 matches away from home which also includes seven defeats, one of which was a 2-1 loss at M’gladbach in their last visit back in March of last year.

Indeed, M’gladbach have won the previous three meetings on the trot against Koln and look set to grab a fourth victory on the trot this weekend over their visitors.
