Hertha Berlin lost for a third straight time when they travelled to Frankfurt last weekend, going down by three goals to one. Friday’s hosts have no failed to win any of their last five outings in the Bundesliga, picking up just one point in the process.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, are flying right now. Friday’s guests have won their last four league games, beating Hoffenheim 4-1 on Sunday, and remain top of the Bundesliga table.

It is safe to say that Hertha Berlin do not enjoy games against Bayern Munich very often. The hosts have lost 41, drawn 20 and won just 9 of their last 70 games against the German giants, going down 4-3 when the sides locked horns in October for their reverse league fixture.

Matches between these two clubs tend to produce a decent number of goals, with four of their last five games seeing over 3.5 goals scored and both teams scoring in three of those fixtures.

Both teams have scored and over 3.5 goals were produced in each of Hertha Berlin’s last two league games, both of which ended in defeat. Both teams have scored in four of Bayern’s last six outings and over 3.5 goals have been scored in four of those six matches as well.

Lewandowski top scores in the Bundesliga this season with 24-goals and looks set to claim the golden boot once again. The Polish striker has a great scoring record against Hertha Berlin in recent seasons as well, netting 7-goals in his last five appearances against the club from the capital.

Lewandowski scored all 4-goals for Bayern when they beat Hertha Berlin 4-3 in October, so the home side have plenty to be concede about on Friday night.

Javairo Dilrosun has a knee injury and Dedryck Boyata is struggling with a foot injury and both will miss Friday’s clash for the hosts. The visitors could be without Corentin Tolisso, Javier Martinez and Leon Goretzka for the trip to Berlin, but all are expected back at some point in February.

History and form both favour Bayern Munich in this game but we can at least see both teams scoring on Friday. With Lewandowski in their starting line-up, Bayern have more than enough firepower to outscore Hertha in their own backyard.

Hertha have conceded at least three goals in each of their last three league games, so a final scoreline of 3-1 could well be on the cards.
