Stuttgart claimed a 2-0 home win over Mainz last time out, putting an end to their three-game winless run.

There is a good chance of goals in this game as four of Stuttgart’s and three of Gladbach’s last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Both teams have scored in three of Stuttgart’s and four of Gladbach’s last five outings, so cleans sheets could be at a premium on Wednesday night.
With four wins and two draws from their last six fixtures, Gladbach head into Wednesday’s cup tie as the clear form favourites. Stuttgart have won two, drawn one and lost three of their last six matches, but have been performing better at home than on the road of late.
Clinton Mola’s hip injury looks set to keep him out of Wednesday’s match for the hosts, while Lilian Egloff has a knock and could also miss out. Gladbach’s main injury concern is Valentino Lazaro who is suffering from a muscle strain.
