League One side Plymouth Argyle will be hoping to upset the odds when they face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Blades currently find themselves six points adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table, while Plymouth are eleventh in League One.

Following 17 failed attempts – 15 defeats and two draws – Sheff Utd finally picked up their first Premier League win of the season last week.

Chris Wilder’s men claimed a 1-0 victory over Newcastle United, although they swiftly returned to losing ways last time out.

The Blades suffered a 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in their previous outing, keeping them rooted to the foot of the table.

Sheffield United beat Bristol Rovers 3-2 to advance to the third round of the FA Cup, with Jayden Bogle netting the winning goal.

The Blades’ struggles have been clear for all to see this term, but they head into Saturday’s match as firm favourites.

Meanwhile, Plymouth suffered a six-game losing streak across November and December, conceding 17 goals while scoring just three.

However, they have since bounced back with one defeat in their previous six League One matches, picking up three wins and two draws along the way.

While Sheffield United have only had to play one game to reach this stage in the competition, Plymouth have already won three FA Cup games this term.

After seeing off Charlton Athletic in round one, Plymouth beat Lincoln City in the second round, before edging Huddersfield Town 3-2 in the previous round.

Given Sheff Utd’s woeful recent run, Plymouth will fancy their chances of causing a famous FA Cup upset on Saturday.

Head-to-head: These two sides last faced each other back in the 2009/10 Championship season, with Sheff Utd claiming a 1-0 away win and a 4-3 home victory.

However, given that they haven’t gone head-to-head for a decade, you can’t read too much in past results in this fixture.

Team news: Sheff Utd trio Sander Berge, Jack O’Connell and Jack Robinson are sideline through injury at the moment.

Luke Jephcott is Plymouth’s danger man, having netted 15 goals in 23 appearances this term, including two goals in three FA Cup outings.

Can Plymouth upset the odds and achieve an FA Cup giant killing? Or will Sheff Utd’s superiority shine through?

Forebet predicts that Sheffield United will beat Plymouth on Saturday, with under 1.5 match goals expected at Bramall Lane.
