Osasuna head into this upcoming clash against Deportivo Alaves on the back of an eight-match sequence without a win in the Spanish top flight which has left Thursday’s hosts sitting second from bottom.
Six of these eight matches have ended in defeats so Osasuna will be desperate to put an end to this worrying slump when they return to their Estadio El Sadar following a promising point picked up in a 2-2 draw away from home at Elche last time out in La Liga.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Osasuna’s form and results at home have also suffered and sure enough, the hosts have lost three of their last four matches having been handed defeats by Atletico Madrid, Real Betis and Villarreal, so the prospects of a home win for Osasuna would seem slim at best.
Goals have featured though throughout Osasuna’s matches at home as four of Osasuna’s seven matches have resulted in both teams scoring and despite their lowly standing in La Liga, the bigger picture shows that Osasuna have scored in eight of their last nine games.
Deportivo Alaves dropped down to 14th place on the La Liga ladder despite recording a 2-1 home win against Eibar last time out, which ended a run of three matches without a win in the Spanish top flight.
A 0-0 draw at home with Real Sociedad was followed by back-to-back defeats against Huesca and Celta Vigo, while five of Alaves’s last eight matches overall have seen both teams hit the back of the net.
Overall results though for Deportivo Alaves have been promising though as the visitors have lost just two of their last nine matches in La Liga, but both of these losses were incurred away from home.
Results away from home have produced a mixed return for Deportivo Alaves as the visitors won 2, drawn 1 and lost 4 so they too are by no means guaranteed all three points in this Thursday’s clash at the Estadio El Sadar.
Four of Osasuna’s seven away matches have also resulted with both teams scoring while six of the visitors’ last eight matches on their travels have seen Deportivo Alaves score as well, so they also carry a serious goal threat into this encounter in which both teams look likely to notch.
