A 1-1 draw away from home with Fiorentina on the weekend in Serie A was preceded by a 2-1 defeat at home for Hellas Verona against Sampdoria.

Verona have lost two of their last three at home with losses incurred against Sassuolo and Sampdoria, so this upcoming visit of Inter Milan will present a serious test for the hosts.
Inter Milan continue to chase their fierce crosstown rivals, AC Milan, in hot pursuit as the visitors are just a point behind their old adversaries heading into this set of midweek fixtures in the Italian top flight.
Having suffered the disappointment of crashing out of the group stage of the Champions League, finishing bottom of Group B, Antonio Conte’s side now at least have no European distractions or possible impact upon injuries to star players and since bowing out of the competition, Inter Milan have recorded three league wins on the trot.
Recent wins against Cagliari, Napoli and Spezia have helped maintain their Serie A title ambitions while the bigger picture shows that Inter have now won six out of their last seven matches, so momentum is definitely on their side ahead of this midweek clash.
In addition, Inter Milan also still remain unbeaten on their travels in this season’s campaign, winning four and drawing two and are one of only four teams in the Italian top flight yet to taste defeat on the road this term.
Previous history is also on the side of Inter Milan as they’re unbeaten in each of the previous 19 meetings with Hellas Verona and this trend looks set to continue on Wednesday night.
