RB Leipzig head into the final group game knowing that even a win might not be enough to keep them in Europe’s elite cup competition.

The Germans are level on 9pts with PSG and Man Utd but have a worse goal difference than both clubs.

PSG will be expected to win at home to an Istanbul Basaksehir side that have lost four of their five games in Group H. Man Utd have a +6 goal difference largely duo to that 5-0 win over RB Leipzig earlier in the campaign, while the Bundesliga side are on -2, so it would take a big win for RB Leipzig to leapfrog the Premier League side.

Four of RB Leipzig’s last six matches in all competitions have produced over 2.5 goals, which bodes well for the host’s need to win by a high margin. However, both teams have scored in four of RB Leipzig’s last five outings, so a clean sheet doesn’t look very likely for the Bundesliga side.

When these two teams locked horns for their reverse group fixture back in October, Rashford scored a hat trick as Man Utd crushed their guests by five goals to nil.

The visitors couldn’t handle United’s attack that day and didn’t trouble their hosts enough at the other end of the pitch.

Man Utd head into the final round of matches in Group H top of the table, knowing that a point would be enough to see them progress through to the knockout stage.

The Premier League side bounced back from their 3-1 home defeat to PSG with a 3-1 away win at West Ham on Saturday with the Champions League’s joint-top scorer, Marcus Rashford, netting the third and final goal.

United have been in good form of late, picking up five wins from their last six matches, and particularly look comfortable away from home where they have won eight out of nine this season. Clean sheets have been at a premium for the Premier League side of late, with just o0ne being kept in their last six attempts.

Over 2.5 goals have been scored in five of Man Utd’s last six matches and in each of those high-scoring games, both teams have scored.

United’s last three away games have all seen both teams score and over 2.5 goals produced, which paints a picture as to how Tuesday’s clash with RB Leipzig is likely to finish.

Henrichs, Klostermann, Laimer and Hartmann all missed out for RB Leipzig at the weekend as they drew 3-3 with Bayern Munich and none are expected to return from their injuries in time to face United.

Fred is suspended for the final group game after being sent-off against PSG last time out. Martial, Shaw and Jones have been ruled out through injury, but Cavani and De Gea are only rated as doubtful.

This game looks set to produce goals and it’s difficult to see either side keeping hold of a clean sheet come the final whistle. United outperformed RB Leipzig when the pair last locked horns and will be confident they can claim all 3pts again on Tuesday.
