On Thursday night, Granada host PSV Eindhoven in a crucial game in Group E of the Europa League, as the visitors look to book their place in the knockout stages of the competition.
Granada are currently top of the group and a win or a draw would secure their passage into the knockout rounds of the Europa League. The Spanish outfit are currently five points clear of PSV Eindhoven, who occupy the other qualification berth.
In truth, though, Granada have been by far the best team in the group, as they are unbeaten in their four group games, having recorded three wins.
The Andalusian’s have looked at home in the Europa League in their debut campaign in the competition, as they are unbeaten in seven games overall, including qualification rounds while recording an impressive six wins.
Diego Martinez’s team has been relatively prolific in the competition, scoring at least twice in five of their seven outings in the Europa League.
PSV Eindhoven may be disappointed with a points haul of just six points from their four group games. The mixed results so far have put their chances of qualification for the knockout stages in major doubt. Roger Schmidt’s team are just a point ahead of third-place PAOK Salonica in the fight for qualification for the last-32.
The meetings between the teams have produced a 4-1 win for the Greek team and a 3-2 victory for PSV in their last meeting. The results would work in PAOK’s favour if qualification came down to head-to-head record.
With PAOK playing what looks like a more comfortable game against bottom team Omonia Nicosia, the Greek team could leapfrog the Dutch team in the group. That means that PSV have to win this game to maintain their advantageous position in the group.

Unfortunately for the visitors, Forebet predicts that Granada will record a victory in a high-scoring game, which would take the fight for qualification for the knockout stages to gameweek six.
